And it was basically a lesson in how much we've aged. :P Years ago when I first moved to Portland and he would visit, almost every night was spent drinking and dancing. Since I've become an old married lady our visits have morphed into going out to nice dinners. This last time we decided to kick it up a notch (BAM!) and spent the first two nights out and drinking. The third night we had people over and, yes, drank. Sunday we rested.

Between all the alcohol and the junk food (we also went to the Tillamook Cheese Factory on Monday and got all kinds of ice cream, cheese curds, jerky, fudge), by the time he left we were both ready for some serious detox. Who says you don't need alcohol to have fun??? ;)

is the day we give the dogs their dose of Advantage. Boris is a sensitive sally when it comes to this stuff. In fact, even when we don't say any of the following words:

• flea
  
• Advantage
• flea stuff
• shh, get the dogs

he knows what's about to happen and will try to run away. It's like the crazy mind-reading crap that happens when he knows I'm about to give them a bath. So, El Fyd and I assume the position and wrangle the dog with the down-ears and tucked-under tail and give him his medicine.

Then, the rest of the evening is filled with Boris ducking from room to room and giving us sullen looks. For the entire evening. And then half the night while we're trying to sleep there's the whining. Ahhh, Boris.
